Why Not Become A DJ? - Written By DJATOM
James Jackson As DJATOM

Both Seb Sinclair and myself have become DJ's and just encase you were wondering how we did it I will explain.

Yeah sure it will probably take practice, hours of frustration and your face will be more than likely glued to your PC screen for many days, but it's definitely all worth it! Just knowing you have created a track that you can listen too over and over again and love it as much as the first time really counts for something.

The first thing Seb and myself did was to get designing a website so that other people from around the world could listen too and rate our music out side of the cNet music domain. That "something" that really counts is when you get people Emailing you from countries you have never heard of before saying they love your music and they want to know how you made it and what your inspirations were.

It does not take a lot of money, there does not have to be any fancy recording slots at Abbey Road, or the wealth to afford your own recording studio and mixing decks. All you do need is the creativity, a PC, some speakers and then either Dance eJay™ or other simple to use music creation software.

Dance eJay™ is one I would recommend as it is as simple as Drag & Drop to create a tune. This software is very reasonably priced too at only $50, which is around £30.00. Your hardware does not have to be fancy either, all I have used to create my music tracks up until 2006 is my PC and a few pieces of software.

My PC specifications are by no means earth shattering, (although they were at the time) and it has been the main tool for which I create my tracks and maintian the website.
